Network security

Firewalls, segmentation, access control, and monitoring designed as one system, so an attacker who gets past one layer runs into the next.

No pitch, no contract. The intro call is for understanding your situation, not selling you a solution.

One firewall is not a security program.

Most small-business networks have a firewall someone set up years ago, a flat network where every device can reach every other device, and nobody watching the logs. That setup holds until one phishing email or one infected laptop gets inside. Then there is nothing between the attacker and your file server.

We build defense in layers. Each one is designed knowing the one before it might fail.

What's included

  • Firewall design and management

Next-generation firewalls configured for your traffic, not vendor defaults. Rules reviewed quarterly, firmware kept current, changes documented.

  • Network segmentation

Staff, servers, guests, cameras, and printers each live on their own segment with only the traffic they need between them. A compromised device stays contained.

  • Secure remote access

VPN or zero-trust access for staff working from home or on the road, tied to identity so a stolen password alone is not enough.

  • Vulnerability scanning and patching

Regular scans of your network and systems, with findings ranked by risk and fixed in order, not left in a report.

  • Monitoring and alerting

Firewall, server, and endpoint logs collected and watched. Alerts go to an engineer who knows your environment, not into a queue.

  • Security awareness training

Short, regular training so your staff recognize phishing and know who to call when something looks wrong.

What you get

Contained, not catastrophic

A single bad click affects one machine, not your whole business.

Fewer surprises

You know what is on your network, what it can reach, and what changed last month.

Common questions

Do we have to replace our firewall?

Not always. We start by assessing what you have. If it can be configured properly and is still supported by the vendor, we keep it. If it is end-of-life or missing features you need, we tell you why and what the replacement costs.

Will segmentation break things?

Done carelessly, yes. We map your traffic first, build rules from what we observe, and roll changes out in stages with a rollback plan. Your staff should not notice anything except that guests can no longer see the file server.

Is this a one-time project or ongoing?

Both. There is an initial build to close the gaps, then ongoing management because networks change and attackers do too. The monthly fee covers the monitoring, patching, and rule reviews.

You might be thinking…

"We have a firewall. Isn't that enough?"

A firewall controls what crosses one boundary. It does nothing about the laptop that's already inside, the guest on the same network as your servers, or the rule someone added in 2019 that nobody remembers. The intro call is where we find out how it's set up and whether a closer look is warranted.

"Our last IT company said we were fine."

They may have been right at the time. Networks drift: new devices, new staff, new remote access, old rules. An intro call costs you thirty minutes and no money. If what you describe sounds fine, we'll say so.

When to call now rather than later

Your insurer asked about segmentation or MFA

Those questions are on the renewal form because claims come from flat networks and shared passwords. Fixes take weeks, and the renewal date doesn't move.

You added remote workers and never revisited the firewall

Every VPN account and every open port added in a hurry is still there. If nobody has reviewed the rules since, it's time for the intro call.

A device showed up on the network that nobody can explain

That is the exact scenario segmentation exists for. Find out what it could reach before someone else does.

Book a call, or ask us to call you

A 30-minute intro call. We ask about your business, your network, and what prompted you to reach out, then tell you honestly whether we're the right fit. If an assessment makes sense, we scope it and price it before any work starts. If something is broken right now, call us.
